Job Description & Qualifications Position Duties:Go Further

* Professional position utilizing engineering education and experience to lead program engineers in the implementation of active plastic deployable restraints.

* Will be responsible for developing new technology with respect to interior restraints and IP/ console utilizing the GTDS process.

* Will be responsible for development of foundation documents for interior restraint components. Foundation documents include DFMEA, RRCL, P-diagram, Specifications, Design rules, etc.

* Will utilize design tools such as CAE, DVA and Dimensional Tolerance, to develop efficient designs which meet customer expectations.

* Will ensure designs meet tooling and manufacturing feasibility.

* Will be responsible for cost, weight, quality and function of assigned components.Minimum Requirements:

* Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

* 2 years of experience designing and developing interior restraints.

* Clear understanding of Design and Release task/process for in house designed trim components.

* Comprehensive knowledge of resins and injection molding process including 2-shot molding, blow molding process, package and tooling feasibility, material analysis, Design Rules, SDS requirements, DFMEA, FMA, and DVPR.

* Working knowledge of CAE and its use in driving the design of plastic injection molded parts including interior restraints.

* Working knowledge of mold flow analysis and warp analysis – understanding the inputs and ability to interpret results.

* Working knowledge of resins including appearance and performance requirements

* Comprehensive knowledge of all FMVSS & ECE requirements related to airbags and interior trim components along with the methods used to design components which meet these requirements.

* Understanding of vehicle program timing and related deliverables.

* Demonstrated capability of working with designers for in-house designed trim components.

* Must have extensive knowledge of trim components cost drivers from design and manufacturing perspective

* Understanding of GD&T requirements and be able to lead design development to supports craftsmanship standards for fit and finish

* Excellent communication, team building, and leadership skillsPreferred Qualifications:

* MS Engineering or strongly related.

* 4 plus years of experience designing and developing interior restraints.
